What's better than chocolate? Three kinds of chocolate! We mixed cocoa and cacao nibs with a gooey date filling and then covered everything in a decadent dark chocolate to create our Fudge Brownie Chocolate Date Bars. You may also know these delicious chocolatey bars as "Triple Cacao" bars. They're the same bar! We’re gave the Triple Cacao Bar you love a new name. We’re rolling out the new packaging in phases so you’ll still see Triple Cacao around for a little while! Enjoy the deliciously chocolatey and rich bar in either look!

Each bite is a delicious chewy crunchy combination just like biting into a freshly baked brownie-- you'd never know there's dates in these!  We use dates as the base of our candy bars because they are naturally sweet, so we don’t need to add cane sugar or other fillers to make a delicious treat, just a hint of coconut sugar in our chocolate coating goes a long way! With only the good stuff and only what's needed, you can feel good about snacking. Each order contains 6 individually wrapped bars.

WHY DATES?

We set out to make a better for you version of the classic candy bar without sacrificing taste! This led us to choosing dates as our base instead of a bunch of synthetic ingredients. Dates have a naturally chewy and sweet, caramel like flavor all on their own!

FOUNDED IN NYC

Our founder, Caron, started Simply Gum in 2014 after she discovered that regular chewing gum is filled with artificial ingredients. She started making batches of gum in her NYC apartment & sold the first Simply Gum products in stores throughout Manhattan.

GOOD INGREDIENTS

What we put into our products (and what we leave out) is so important to us. Our candy bars start with a date base, then we mix in crunchy peanuts everything is coated with a decadent dark chocolate. We don't add any artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors!

Amazing

Found them in the supermarket at first. I fell in love and ordered a bunch more. Great for health-conscious snackers

Taste Good and A Healthy Treat

These are definitely gaining ground with me, they make a nice treat and relatively healthy. Low in Sat Fats and Sugar. One very nice snack.

Not what they used to be, sorry

I ordered recently under the assumption/hope that the packaging and name were the only changes. The entire bar is different - misshapen, thin bars that are extremely soft and mushy on the inside, and with poorer quality dates and/or processing, since they now tend to harbor small hard specks. The taste is also somehow different, despite essentially having the same ingredients/recipe (I still have an original batch to compare it to). The original bars were rich and had a perfect firmness to them, with a better chocolate layer. The sizing was also more consistent - I weigh everything I eat and the new bars are all over the place, with some being as small as 40 grams. When the listed average weight is 50g, you feel a bit ripped off. I will say that the packaging and shipping was wonderful but I feel like it hardly matters if the product isn't worth protecting so arduously. I bought these bars religiously from Amazon, but sad to say I won't be ordering the newer "brownie" variant again through any avenue - and I would have appreciated a more forthcoming approach to the recipe change (or better yet, don't fix what's not broken and roll out a separate, new bar, perhaps).

Changed recipe is seriously disappointing

Won't be buying again, as the new recipe is a terrible downgrade. The bars are now incredibly wet and mushy instead of firm and rich, the bars are flatter and chocolate layer seemingly thinner, and there are some hard bits I have to spit out occasionally! It feels like trying to chew baby food, and the tiny hard pieces are just plain unpleasant. I'd love if they kept the Triple Cacao around for those of us that have been buying for ages, and maybe turn the "Fudge Brownie" version into a more caramel-filled style bar, since that's a suitable description for the new filling's consistency (minus the hard pieces, seriously, what are those!?) I would not purchase again unless the classic Triple Cacao returned.

Poor change in quality

I am extremely disappointed. These bars are not what they used to be. With the original packaging, the bars were covered in thick chocolate and the texture was thick and perfect. With the first change of packaging, the chocolate was significantly thinner. Now with the most recent change of the packaging - the product is at its worst. Thin chocolate and the texture of the bar is very different. It’s breaking in my hand, whereas the bar used to feel solid. It’s also a lot thinner all round. Likely all to cut cost. Not happy with the quality right now. And I ordered 5 boxes without knowing there would be this change
